Spring Flower Favorites, part 1

Welcome to part one in our series, where we learn about the favorite Spring flowers of everyone at The Woods!

Let's start with Evonne, matriarch of our floral family. Her favorites are Anemones,a member of the buttercup family.

She's reaching back to her Gothic Lolita roots with these, favoring the deep, plummy purple/almost black color.

Check out one of the rumored tales of how they got their name:
"The story of Adonis' death is found in Ovid's Metamorphoses (book X), where Venus transforms the blood of her dead lover, Adonis, into an Anemone. One implication is that the blood-red petals are symbolic of her lost love because, as the verses conclude, they cling too loosely to the stem and are easily lost in the wind. In some versions of the myth, Venus's tears cause the transformation."
